Eurovision Village

Situated beside the ESC Village at Messeplatz, Lightning Symphony by Swiss artist Claudia Comte is a monumental inflatable sculpture that transforms sound into a spatial, physical experience. Shaped like undulating sound waves, the installation stretches horizontally across the ground—two colossal sonic ripples made tangible—forming a walkable corridor that invites visitors to step inside the architecture of music itself. Immersive and audacious, this installation pays homage to the profound interplay between sound, movement, and contemporary art. From the outside, its fluid black contours trace the iconic waveforms of beloved classics and modern anthems, giving form to what is normally unseen. Inside, LED lights pulse outward in rhythmic waves, animating the structure with a glowing heartbeat—a luminous, meditative
encounter with music in motion. Lightning Symphony transforms Messeplatz into both a stage and a sanctuary—a living artwork that resonates at the core of the ESC project and the city beyond. It stands as a symbol of togetherness, inviting all—regardless of background, language, or origin—to experience music as a universal language that transcends barriers. A centerpiece of Eurovision in Basel, Lightning Symphony is a vivid celebration of rhythm, connection, and the unifying force of sound—an experience not to be missed.
